I am James Jones, stationed at Campbell, but deployed to Iraq or awhile.  I just wanted to tell you your site looks great I have been looking at its change over the past few months, it looks great now.  I have been interested in bringing my 10 year son in to your school, to start building his foundation in the fight game.  I was once a fighter a few years ago (36 years old now).  I fought mostly Muay Thai, for several organizations, part owner manager of a gym not much different than your.  I played in the MMA arena a few times but that was still in the infancy of the sport, mid 90's, when BJJ was still new and exotic. I had pretty good success with it, but walked away to concentrate on some family issues.  If you are familiar with the USMTA site, I was one of World Champ Dave "Thunder" Cummings original students and go back along with him. I say all of that not to talk about me but to say I have been watching from a distance, going to events and checking your fights and fighters out, and I am impressed with your organization.  I am interesting in bringing my 10 year son into your school. I believe he can get a good foundation of the MMA at your facility.  I would be interested in training myself, just for the fun of it.  What specifically do you offer for kids his age, as far as training and competition wise.  Thanks for all your support for our soldiers and for the positive promotion of God and the MMA sport all together.

I started working out at CMMAA on a whim in 2005. I had recently moved here, knew Jen from church, and thought the whole " martial arts" thing sounded like fun. I Originally planned to take two, maybe three, classes per week but quickly became addicted to the exercise, the sport and the gym.

CMMAA is a very special place and you don't have to be a fighter or even wanting to fight in order to be there. There are people of every age and every level of ability from those who just want a workout to those who are training to fight muay thai, MMA, et cetera. In my two years at CMMAA, I have found both John and Jen to be not just incredibly helpful but incredibly encouraging as well. They put a lot of time and effort into their gym and the people that go there. The woman's muay thai class that Jen teaches is more then just a great workout. She has fostered a real sense of friendship amongst the women that attend. When I told John that I wanted to fight, he was among the first to tell me that, yes, I could do it and has been actively involved in my training the whole time.

I have lost 50 pounds since starting the gym. My current goal is to lose at least 12 more pounds ( and preferably more) to reach the weight class I want to fight in. My ultimate goal is to celebrate my 40th birthday by competing in my fist muay thai fight.
